WED 24 MAR 2021
09:00 LONDON | 11:00 ATHENS | 17:00 SINGAPORE/MANILA
The technological evolution affects shipping in all aspects but most importantly, its people working within – the seafarers. Technical competencies are not enough; a unique set of multidimensional skills is needed to overcome challenges. Critical thinking, Teamwork, Resilience, communication, flexibility and problem solving skills are few of the soft skills that all organizations should develop to ensure operational in all levels.
- Has the industry realized the power of soft skills? Any initiatives that make the difference?
- How equipped is our industry to recruit and retain the seafarer of tomorrow?
- Is industry able to identify skill gaps and help seafarers develop their non-technical skills?
- What needs to be done to ensure industry continuous development and improvement of seafarers’ soft skills?
